Peter Callan, MBBS, FRACS, MBA

Completed specialist training in Plastic Surgery at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1993, followed by further training in Scotland, England, Canada and the United States. 

A practising Plastic Surgeon since 1993 and a member of ASPS Council since 2003, holding the portfolios of Honorary Treasurer and Chairman of the Schedule Review Committee.

His special interests include skin cancer surgery, hand surgery, cosmetic surgery, craniofacial surgery and head and neck surgery. 

Dr Callan sits on advisory boards to the Australian Medical Association, and the federal government’s Medicare Benefits Consultative Committee, reviewing fees on the Medicare Benefits Schedule. He is a director of a private hospital in Melbourne and a lecturer in Plastic Surgery for Melbourne University’s Medical School. In full time practice in Geelong, the second largest city in Victoria. 

In addition to being President of ASPS he is also Chair of the Finance Committee, Chair of the Fees Schedule and Skin Cancer Committee, Member of the Ethics Committee, Member of the Development Committee for Plastic Surgery Australia Pty Ltd and Overseer of the ISO accreditation process.
