In 2006 RACS endorsed the BIR as an approved activity for CPD points. RACS endorses participation in the BIR as an audit activity:

  • Fellows can keep claiming CPD points Category 1A: Surgical Audit and Peer review.   Please note participation in this audit would constitute meeting the Surgical Audit and Peer Review requirement.
  • Fellows who hold meetings to discuss the outcomes of this audit data and / or how they can use this data to improve their practice can claim points in Category 2 Clinical Governance.   [Participation in these meetings does not require formal approval].
