NSW Parliamentary Health Care Complaints Committee inquiry into Cosmetic Health Service Complaints

NSW Parliamentary Health Care Complaints Committee inquiry into Cosmetic Health Service Complaints

The cosmetic health services industry is a growing industry with an increasing demand for services. This NSW government inquiry has demonstrated that there are a number of complexities that make regulating this area very challenging. There are various State and Commonwealth agencies and entities which play an important role in regulation or complaint handling. There are also a number of different State and Commonwealth laws which may be relevant, depending on the circumstances. Both registered and unregistered practitioners perform, or assist with, different kinds of procedures. In addition, there is no settled definition of what constitutes cosmetic health services.

A copy of the 129 page report can be found here.

A 4 minute video of MP, and Parliamentary Inquiry Chair, Adam Crouch explaining the report findings and recommendations is available here.
