ASPS President pays tribute

ASPS President, Associate Professor Gazi Hussain has paid tribute to respected member Clayton Lang who, along with his father Dick, died as a result of the bushfires on Kangaroo Island. “Clayton was an active member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Australian Hand Surgery Society (AHSS), a Senior Visiting Plastic Surgeon to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and worked in private practice with Randall Sach and Markus Nikitins at Dextra Day Surgery.” Dr Lang’s colleague Randall Sach remembers a highly regarded surgeon, “He was a very talented, popular and personable Surgeon who held the respect of his colleagues and workmates in pursuing excellence in his surgical skills with strong commitments to both public and private Plastic Surgery practices. Patients frequently provided glowing feedback of his care and devotion.”
“Our thoughts are with Clayton’s family, our South Australian colleagues and members at this difficult time,” said Associate Professor Hussain.
“This tragedy brings home to us the personal cost of the bushfires as well as the professional pressure on the Burns Surgeons in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales during this period of devastation.”
