Dr Carly Fox

Dr Carly Fox is a Queensland trained plastic surgeon, specialising in advanced skin cancer and melanoma management, and head and neck cancer reconstruction. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Australia & New Zealand Head & Neck Cancer Society (ANZHNCS).

Carly undertook her medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with an MBBS in 2008. She was awarded a Master of Philosophy in the field of melanoma pathogenesis in 2014, and her FRACS in Plastic Surgery in 2019. Following completion of her training, Carly undertook a further 18 months of sub-specialist training in Head and Neck cancer resection and reconstruction at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH).

Carly holds public hospital appointments at both the RMH and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Within the precinct, she undertakes complex head and neck and trauma reconstruction, and management of advanced skin cancer, including melanoma. She is actively involved in world-leading research in the management of advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma at Peter Mac, and works closely with her medical oncology colleagues to remain at the forefront of these rapidly changing fields.

Within her private practice, Carly manages a diverse range of plastic surgical cases, with a specific interest in oncologic and reconstructive surgery. Through her close links with the specialist cancer units at both RMH and Peter Mac, she ensures expert, multidisciplinary management of complex cases. Carly also performs breast surgery, body contouring surgery, hand, and trauma surgery.

Outside of work, Carly is a keen cyclist and skier, and understands the importance of managing the plastic surgery journey in the context of busy work, life, and family commitments.
