The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) has the overall responsibility for the training, education and accreditation of surgeons in Australia and New Zealand and is responsible for the determination of general standards in these areas. RACS has been accredited by the Australian Medical Council to deliver specialist medical education and training for surgery in Australia. RACS produces principle-based policies for surgical training.
The Board develops specialty-specific regulations for SET in PRS, based on the College principle-based policies. Published Training Regulations have been approved by RACS.
The Training Handbook compliments RACS Policies and Board Training Regulations.
