We have received correspondence from Health NSW regarding the NSW Private Health Facilities Regulation 2024, which commenced on commenced on 30 August 2024. The key changes to the Regulation are updates to the cosmetic surgery procedures that must be performed in licensed private health facilities. Notably, from 1 March 2025, the threshold for the volume of lipoaspirate removed (which determines when liposuction or fat transfer must be conducted in a private health facility licensed in the cosmetic surgery class) reduces from 2.5 litres to 500ml.
Please note this important change and adjust your procedures accordingly.
