Former Breast Implant Registry

The Breast Implant Registry (BIR) commenced in 1998. It has now been superseded by the ABDR.

As of 6 May 2015, the BIR ceased to register new patients. However, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) continues to maintain the BIR legacy data and to ensure all registered patients continue to have access to their unique data stored on the Registry. ASPS will continue to maintain policies and protocols to ensure privacy and security.

- Driver’s licence
- Birth certificate
- Medicare card
- Passport
- Certificate of Australian Citizenship
- Signed letter from General Practitioner verifying proof
- Other (eg utility bill showing name and address details)

Name and address of surgeon (at time of surgery).
If you would like a copy of your record sent to a medical practitioner please supply the doctor's name, address and email details.
Any record we hold on file will be sent via email. If you would prefer to have the record posted to you please provide a current postal address.
