Assoc Prof Mikko Larsen

Associate Professor Larsen is an internationally trained specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon since 2011. He graduated with honours from Erasmus University Medical School in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 2002, and completed advanced training in plastic, reconstructive, hand and aesthetic surgery in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He completed fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery in 2011 (Leuven, Belgium) and reconstructive microsurgery in 2016 (Adelaide, SA). He performed experimental reconstructive microsurgery research at Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN, USA and defended his PhD thesis at the VU University, Amsterdam in 2011. He obtained FRACS by examination in 2018 and works at the Launceston General Hospital as a staff specialist, supervisor of training for plastic surgery and fellowship supervisor. He also has a private practice with locations in Launceston and St Helens, Tasmania.
