Associate Professor Michael Leung AM

Associate Professor Michael Leung was recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2020 Australia Day awards for his significant service to medicine and the international community. Michael is Head of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Monash Health, and Unit Head of Plastic Surgery at Monash University.
Michael also holds an appointment with Interplast Australia and New Zealand as the Country Co-ordinator for Myanmar. In this role, he has volunteered as a plastic surgeon for over a decade. Michael has also served as a plastic surgeon volunteer in Papua New Guinea, Vietnam and the Pacific Islands. As well as being committed to helping patients through surgical procedures, Michael is dedicated to the teaching of plastic surgery and has established a Masters and Doctorate in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Yangon University in Myanmar.
