Dr Brendan Louie

Dr Brendan Louie is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with interests in oncologic and traumatic reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, breast reconstruction, hand surgery, facial aesthetic surgery and skin cancer, with a special interest in melanoma. Brendan obtained his medical degree at the University of Queensland and undertook general surgery training prior to completing Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training in Brisbane and Melbourne. Brendan currently works as a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he was Acting Director for the Plastic and Reconstructive Unit in 2017. He then took on the role of Head of Unit for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mater Hospital in South Brisbane before transitioning to the Supervisor of Surgical Training, allowing him to focus more on the development and education of future plastic surgeons. He is a member of several multidisciplinary teams, including the high risk skin MDT and breast reconstruction MDT at Mater public, and the Melanoma MDT at Royal Brisbane. He is also a member of the The Clinical Outcomes from Melanoma Management Advisory (COMMA) Committee that works with Cancer Alliance Queensland.
