Dr Matthew Peters

Dr Matthew Peters is a distinguished Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with over two decades of experience. Known for combining surgical precision with an artistic approach, he delivers outcomes that prioritise both function and aesthetics.

Since obtaining Fellowship, Dr Peters has worked across public and private hospitals in Brisbane. He served as Director of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for ten years from 2014. He also holds Visiting Medical Officer appointments at Brisbane Private and North West Private Hospitals.

During this time, he founded Valley Plastic Surgery, a leading Brisbane clinic bringing together highly skilled surgical specialists. The practice offers a comprehensive range of services, from minimally invasive treatments to complex reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.

Dr Peters has particular expertise in breast surgery, complex body contouring, and post-weight loss procedures. His approach is holistic, recognising that successful outcomes depend on both physical and emotional wellbeing. He is known for his clear communication, ensuring patients feel informed and confident throughout their journey.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Peters is committed to advancing the field. He is actively involved in registrar training and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He also contributes to research and regularly participates in international conferences, maintaining exposure to evolving techniques and innovations.
