Dr Natasha van Zyl

Natasha is an Australian trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. She is an active member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Hand Surgery Society and the International Spinal Cord Society.

Natasha has a public appointment at The Austin Hospital and is a surgeon for the Victorian Spinal Cord Service. She has a special interest in upper limb re-animation which maximises hand and arm function after nerve, brachial plexus or spinal cord injury and also aids people with spasticity as a result of cerebral palsy, stroke or head injury.

She also has extensive experience in breast reconstruction, breast reduction and breast asymmetry and works as a reconstructive breast surgeon for the multidisciplinary breast cancer team at Austin Health.

Natasha consults privately at Hawthorn Plastic Surgery and sees patients with a wide range problems in addition to the ones listed above. These include skin cancer, Dupuytren’s disease, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, ganglions, hand infections, otoplasty, abdominoplasty, breast reduction, emergency plastic surgery such as hand fractures, lacerations and foot drop surgery after nerve injury or stroke/ABI
