Dr Paul Cheng

Dr Paul Cheng is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon, now practicing on the Gold Coast, QLD and in Ballina, NSW.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in New Zealand, Dr Cheng’s academic excellence was evident from an early age. He graduated with top honours from the University of Auckland, earning the Senior Prize in Medicine. After completing his medical degree in 2008, Dr Cheng completed further specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery across New Zealand, culminating in his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2022.

Dr Cheng offers a broad spectrum of procedures, including skin cancer surgery, aesthetic facial surgery, breast and body contouring, microsurgery, soft tissue hand and trauma reconstruction. He also has experience in Asian blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty. His passion for delivering individualised, high-quality care is reflected in his thorough approach, from the initial consultation to the detailed post-operative care. Dr Cheng ensures that each patient is fully informed and comfortable with their surgical decisions, emphasising safety and personalised treatment.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Cheng is committed to advancing the field through education and mentorship. He has published in respected medical journals and serves regularly as a RACS examiner for the Part I Clinical Examinations.

Dr Cheng is an active member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). His passion for aesthetics and dedication to continuous learning has led him to complete two ASAPS-endorsed fellowships with various internationally renowned experts in Australia (Sydney & Gold Coast), where he has further honed his skills in cosmetic plastic surgery.

Dr Cheng holds a current AHPRA specialist registration in Plastic Surgery (MED0002720769) in Australia, and a MCNZ vocational registration in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, in New Zealand.
