Dr Alex Yuen is a fully qualified and highly trusted Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Melbourne. As a well sought after specialist, Dr Alex is committed to providing world-class care to his patients in all reconstructive and cosmetic fields.

Dr Alex Yuen is trained in all aspects of skin cancer surgery, hand surgery, body contouring, facial aesthetic surgery, scar management, and paediatric plastic surgery, with a special interest in breast aesthetic surgery and breast reconstruction.

Dr Alex completed his MBBS at the University of Melbourne in 2001, and under the auspices of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne, he commenced Specialist Plastic Surgery training in 2008. During this period, he worked in a number of major Plastic Surgical Units including The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, and The Peter MacCallum Centre Institute.

After completing surgical training, he underwent several observerships in various Asian countries including Singapore and South Korea. Dr Alex also has many first author publications in international plastic surgery journals.

Achieving the best outcome for patients is the objective of Dr Alex’s practice. Currently, he is a specialist consultant at Epworth Eastern Hospital, Knox Private Hospital, Western Private Hospital, Eastern Health, Western Health and Peninsula Health. He has admitting rights and access to theatre for urgent and elective procedures at these health services.

Dr Alex is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin and will be able to assist with any non-English speaking patients who speak these dialects. He has two young children and enjoys spending time with his family.
