Mr Derek Neoh

Mr. Derek Neoh completed his MBBS at the University of Melbourne in 1996. He trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at major tertiary hospitals in Melbourne and Brisbane, including the prestigious Victorian Plastic Surgery Unit. Derek was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2009.

In 2010 Derek completed a 12-month fellowship at Toronto General Hospital and the Women’s College Hospital in Canada where he worked with leading Canadian Plastic Surgeons. During his fellowship, he specialised in breast reconstruction and microsurgery. Prior to commencing his Canadian fellowship, Derek visited prominent Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons at St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns in the UK and Erasmus Medical Centre in the Netherlands.

Derek is the Director of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Austin Hospital and offers treatment in the public and private sectors. He has an interest in cancer reconstruction, particularly breast and head and neck, and provides oncological reconstructive services at Austin Health. Derek operates privately at the Epworth Network, St Vincent’s Private and Ramsay Health networks.

Derek has a strong involvement in teaching and lectures regularly on Plastic Surgery to University of Melbourne medical undergraduates at the Austin Hospital. He is also an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Hand Surgery Society and the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.
