Professional Profile

Dr. Kim Hughes is a fully qualified and accredited Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Tasmania in 2010. Following her graduation, she relocated to Melbourne to pursue rigorous surgical training. Kim completed a Postgraduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy at the University of Melbourne in 2014, and she was awarded her Fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 2022. In 2023, Kim further honed her expertise by undertaking specialized fellowship training in microsurgery, lymphatic surgery, and breast surgery at Imperial College Healthcare in London, and in Switzerland. Kim has authored numerous publications in prestigious international medical journals and has presented her findings at both national and international conferences. Kim holds public hospital appointments at the Austin Hospital and Northern Hospital, and she practices privately at St. Vincent's East Melbourne and Epworth. She offers a comprehensive range of procedures, with a particular focus on breast reconstruction, aesthetic breast surgery, body contouring, skin cancer surgery, hand and trauma surgery.
