Dr Nelson Low

Research Biography

Dr Nelson Low is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Monash Health, where he serves as Head of Paediatric Plastic Surgery and Research. He attained his FRACS in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2017 and completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. His clinical and research interests cover all aspects of reconstructive plastic surgery in particular cleft surgery and corneal neurotisation—having performed Victoria’s first such procedure for neurotrophic keratopathy. A Fellowship Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a peer reviewer for the ANZ Journal of Surgery, he is widely published and an educator who also volunteers internationally as a cleft and reconstructive surgeon with Interplast and Helping Children Smile.
